News Archive for 'Interview'Steve Heisler interviews Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner prior to the release of the new 2000 Year Old Man CD/DVD set. Check it out at AV Club. The latest issue of ToyFare magazine has a short interview with Mel on Page 48, no doubt a promo for the Spaceballs Animated DVD release June 16th. Oddly, it’s listed at www.dvdpricesearch.com as “Spaceballs: The Animated Spoof”. The Amazon.com listing states it is cancelled, but includes some insight into the naming convention. Apparently it’s not […] Lots of “Mel related” news since my last post. Quint of Ain’t It Cool News recently interviewed Mel as a promo for Get Smart (opening Friday). Here is a link. Hey all. Life Stinks! I finally met Mel Brooks tonight at the American Cinematheque Mel Brooks Retrospective screening of Life Stinks at the Aero Theatre in chilly Santa Monica, CA. Phew, what a sentence. Phew, what a day! According to the folks at the MGM booth there are no Spaceballs Animated Series promotional materials at this time. If you’re interested in Mel’s more serious works with his production company Brooksfilms, be sure to check out the Saturday Review andRolling Stone interviews . Both of these interviews are dated back in the 1980’s, when brooks was giving […] Small, but significant additions today. The October 1966 and February 1975 Playboy interviews have been mirrored by other sites on the net but their original home was here @Brookslyn. They are some of the earliest interviews that I have found hardcopies of and also the original interviews that really got me interested in Mel Brooks. […] Just a quick update today. I’ve added, to the Print Page, the Writer’s Guild of America West OnWriting issue featuring an interview with Mel & Tom Meehan. The great thing about this interview is that its intended audience are writers, so the material is a bit different than the standard press interview. In addition, there […] Hey all, just finished transcribing a few old NPR shows. Check them out on the Print page. If you’ve still got your hearing I’ve included links to the original NPR pages with streaming audio on each transcript.
